FIR
Refused on Showroom Molestation in Gurgaon Mall
Gurgaon
Police and administration seem waiting another gruesome incident to wake up as
The
case of a Naga girl from Manipur molested by a show room manager in Gurgaon
Metropolitan Mall on Friday night is refused by Gurgaon DLF Phase 2 police
station even after 50 hours. Delaying to register the complaint has given long
enough for the culprit to come with after-thought idea to confront the case.
Accused
has threatened the victim, her friends and North East Support Centre &
Helpline personnel not to lodge complaint in police station, otherwise face
consequences.
North
East Support Centre & Helpline received a threatening call from some one
called himself Serpunch of Sikanderpur, where the victims resides and said,
Mistaken are happened, the accused is his relative, do not lodge complaint in
Police station, his career will be spoiled, let use compromised.
The
matter was informed to Commissioner Police of Gurgaon through a letter dated
Advocate
Lansinglu Rongmei, President of North East Support Centre & Helpline
reacts, As per the guidelines of Court, the statement of the victim is enough
for Police on duty to register the complaint and thereafter police might take
action and carry on the verification.
In
2007, under same Gurgaon DLF Phase 2 police station, a case of minor girl from
Manipur was attempted rape and molested repeatedly, the same police officers
refused to take the complaint until the help from Mr. Mahendra Singh, then
Gurgaon Commission of Police with the help of Dr. John Dayal member of
National Integration Council.
Reluctance
of police to register the case and take action accordingly will give a negative
message to the accused and others who advances on North East girls to target
easily as they go free. Leaving the cases like this will definitely lead to the
menace of racial discrimination to North East people in the days to come.
North
East Support Centre & Helpline will wait for one more day for Gurgaon
Police to book the accuse, thereafter reserves it rights to approach National
Commission for Women, National Human Rights Commission, National Commission for
SC/ST and Civil Societies and Human Rights groups.
Stories
do not end here, there are more incidents reported without any action taken.
