New Delhi, November 7, 2009

 

A Naga girl from Manipur molested by a show room manager last night in Gurgaon’s Metropolitan Mall. Two girls pushed into drainage by 7 drunkards in Sikenderpur, Gurgaon under DLF Phase 2 police station on November 3^rd night and two boys from Manipur beaten same night at same place and another boy beaten at same place following day. Panic has spread among all North East India boys and girls living in Gurgaon. Uncontrolled racial attack on North East communities in National Capital Region continues.

 

According to source reaching to North East Support Centre & Helpline, says that a show room manager in Metropolitan Mall in Gurgaon molested Ms. Sonia 20 yrs old (name change) from Manipur after refusing to see the nude pictures at computer by her manager. The incident happened at around 9.20 pm yesterday when she was alone in the show room sitting in front of computer; her manager Mr. Vijay 30 yrs old came starting seducing her by showing the nude picture. “He forced me to sit and watch nude picture and hold of me when I refused to see the nude picture then he molested me,” Ms. Sonia told NE Helpline. Ms. Sonia hails from Ukhrul District of Manipur state and belongs to Thankhul Naga tribe.

 

Three other socking racial attacks happened in Sikanderpur, Gurgaon this week. Two Naga girls age of 20s were returning home from their job on November 3, at around 8 PM, seven local men abused them and pushed them in drainage. Girls ran away from the scene to their rented rooms in same locality. One of them works in Mall and while another was looking for job along with her friends. They also hail from Ukhrul district of Manipur and belong to same Thankhul Naga tribe.

 

After some time same night, two Naga boys belonging to same district and same tribe happened come across the place in Sikanderpur, seven people pushed two Naga girls into drainage. The same local men passed lewd remarks on them and started beating both. One boy got punch and managed to flee from the scene and another was severely beaten with kicks, punches fell flat on ground.

 

Following day, another boy from Manipur belonging to Paite tribe was also reported beaten by locals at same locality. Panic has aroused that they are too afraid to face the police to register the complaints in police station. North East Support Centre & Helpline has appealed to student bodies, particularly the Naga Students’ Union Delhi, who led the agitation against the gruesome killing of 19 years old Naga girl in South Delhi on October 25, to mobilise and bring the issue to authorities in National Capital Regions.

 

Rampant Racial Attack on North East Communities goes on Record

On November 6 – A 20-year-old girl from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul tribe, was molested by her Show room manager in Metropolitan Mall, Gurgaon at 9.20PM after rejecting his advances by showing nude pictures in computer.

On November 4 – A 22-year-old boy from Churachandpur district, Manipur belonging to Paite tribe, was beaten by locals at Sikanderpur, Gurgaon at 9PM

On November 3 – Two boys of age 20s from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul Naga tribe, working in Mall in Gurgaon were severely attacked at 9PM in Sikanderpur Gurgaon, Haryana by locals.

On November 3 – Two girls of age 20s from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul Naga tribe, working in Mall in Gurgaon were attacked and pushed in drainage in Sikanderpur, Gurgaon at 8 pm. They managed to run away from the scene.

On October 25 – A 19-year-old girl from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul Naga tribe was murdered by an IIT PhD scholar in Munirka after she rejected his advances.

On October 22 – A 21-year-old Jamia Millia Islamia student from Arunachal Pradesh was molested by a group of boys inside their school in South Delhi.

On October 15 - A 23-year-old Call Centre working girl from Mao district, Manipur, belonging to Mao tribe was in Naraina, New Delhi while coming from work at 10 PM.

On October 12 - A Naga couple from North East India was severely beaten by localites in Delhi on late Saturday night. The complaint was denied initially by police officer on duty and registered complaint after 20 hours.

On October 12 – A 24-year-old girl from North East was dragged inside a Maruti van bear Sarojini Nagar. She managed to raise an alarm and is saved by passerby. TOI
