Boy who Reported NE Girl Rape Case in Gurgaon Threatened

The Assamese boy who helped in reporting the rape case of
Assamese girl in Gurgaon on December 30, 2008 is under threat by the gangs =
of
the rapists. A delegation of human rights activists and civil society met
Commissioner Police of Gurgaon yesterday.

the rape case to NE Support Centre & Helpline (NESC&H), was adducte=

goons of the rapist on New Year’s evening to the same house where rape
took place and released with a threat of dare consequences, if he fails to
bring the victim and withdraw the case against the rapist by next day.
Early morning yesterday, the panic Assamese boy informed
NESC&H about the threat of him and rape victim’s live, a delegati=

of human rights activists and civil society led by Dr. John Dayal, Member of
National Integration Council and founding patron of NESC&H, filed a
complaint against the goons of rapist at Gurgaon Sector 40 Police Station a=
nd
latter met Mr. Mahendra Lal, Commissioner Police of Gurgaon.
Dr. John Dayal says, “The lives for the outsiders,
particularly of North Eastern girls, in Gurgaon, became very unsafe
place.” For this he has appealed to Mr. Mahendra to take up alertness=
to
his police cop.
Lodging complaint at local police stations has become a =
very
difficult, particularly when the incidents happened to North East communiti=
es.
The recent case is about two North East girls at Sikanderpur, where rape
attempted at wee hour on December 13, 2008. Girls were molested and beaten
severely to yield the sexual favour demanded by landlord and his companion.=
The
oral complaint filed by the girls at hospital bed was manipulated by
Sub-Inspector Mr. Aberaj and tempered the lines of their written complaints=
.
Dr. Dayal urged Mr. Mahendra Lal to instruct his subordi=
nate
