Racial Attack on North Easterners Unabated in National Capital

Another Naga Boy Attacked in Delhi

Reluctantly Gurgaon Police Registers FIR against Showroom Molestation after 60 Hrs.

 

New Delhi, November 10, 2009, 21:30 hrs

 

Unabated racial attack on North East communities in Delhi and NCR continues in spite of assurance from Delhi government and police forces. Another Naga boy attacked today in Motibagh, South Delhi and suffers head injuries. Gurgaon police reluctantly registered FIR against the Gurgaon Mall molestation case of a 20-year-old Naga girl after 60 hours. SC/ST Atrocity Act denied.

 

According to source reaching to North East Support Centre & Helpline says that Mr. James (name changed) 24-year-old from Imphal, Manipur belonging to Rongmei Naga tribe was beaten by a Bihari guy Mr. Dharmendra known to the victim at around 6 pm today.

 

The reason behind this incident was that the accused had taken money (more than 1 lakh rupees) from the victim on the pretext of getting a ticket and visa to go to Russia. James was cheated by Dharmendra by producing false medical report to the Russian Embassy and his visa was denied. Later James made a complaint to the Russian Embassy and meantime, Dharmendra asked him to withdraw the complaint under the condition that he will return the money to the victim. But when they are in the process of negotiation, around 6 PM on today at Motibagh, Dharmendra dragged out James from his rented house punched him and failed on stone at roadside and got injury on head.

 

Naga Students’ Union Delhi and community leaders have taken to Hospital for medical attention and thereafter Medical Legal Case will be sought and will give complaint to police.

 

North East communities continue to suffer sock and panic as unabated racial attack and sexual assault continues to their communities.

On November 6 – A 20-year-old girl from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul tribe, was molested by her Show room manager in Metropolitan Mall, Gurgaon at 9.20PM after rejecting his advances by showing nude pictures in computer.

On November 4 – A 22-year-old boy from Churachandpur district, Manipur belonging to Paite tribe, was beaten by locals at Sikanderpur, Gurgaon at 9PM

On November 3 – Two boys of age 20s from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul Naga tribe, working in Mall in Gurgaon were severely attacked at 9PM in Sikanderpur Gurgaon, Haryana by locals.

On November 3 – Two girls of age 20s from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul Naga tribe, working in Mall in Gurgaon were attacked and pushed in drainage in Sikanderpur, Gurgaon at 8 pm. They managed to run away from the scene.

On October 25 – A 19-year-old girl from Ukhrul district, Manipur belonging to Tangkhul Naga tribe was murdered by an IIT PhD scholar in Munirka after she rejected his advances.

On October 22 – A 21-year-old Jamia Millia Islamia student from Arunachal Pradesh was molested by a group of boys inside their school in South Delhi.

On October 15 - A 23-year-old Call Centre working girl from Mao district, Manipur, belonging to Mao tribe was in Naraina, New Delhi while coming from work at 10 PM.

On October 12 - A Naga couple from North East India was severely beaten by localites in Delhi on late Saturday night. The complaint was denied initially by police officer on duty and registered complaint after 20 hours.

On October 12 – A 24-year-old girl from North East was dragged inside a Maruti van bear Sarojini Nagar. She managed to raise an alarm and is saved by passerby.
