North East Support Centre & Helpline will approach Delhi Government, National Commission for Human Rights and International Human Rights Commission to look into the discrimination meted out to mongoloid race communities living in Delhi. A Special Appeal for Financial Help

 

North East Support Centre & Helpline would like to thank to those groups and individuals, who have extended financial help toward the medical treatment of Mr. Bobocha’s wife, Sumobala, whose brain was damaged due to the stroke.

 

A fact finding team of North East Support Centre & Helpline visited the couple to stocked condition and found it as pathetic situation of the couple with two kids in a congested rented room in Murnikar, New Delhi.

 

Bobocha and two little kids live in a hope for Sumobala to regain a normal life. That could only be possible, if they could afford to purchase medicines prescribed by Doctor. The prescribed medicines cost almost Rs 2000 per day, which is needed for first few months. Thereafter, Doctors will change the medicine, which might be lesser amount. Every two week, medical checkup is required and Bobocha could take his wife for last two weeks due to the lack of money. Full Story

NCW urged to take action to stop exploitation of N-E tribal women

The North East Support Centre and Helpline has urged National Comission for Women Chairperson Girija Vyas to take action against all those who exploit tribal women who hail from north-eastern states and engage them as domestic helps or in other menial jobs.

Mr Madhu Chandra, spokesperson for the organisation, said a girl, who hails from Manipur, was assaulted by her landlord in Gurgaon (Haryana) but there is no one to redress her problems. Police have not taken any action against the landlord. The condition of tribal women who come to the capital is very grim. They are engaged as domestic helps in the NCR area (Noida, Gurgaon) and other nearby places, he added. Full Story

A dawning of justice finally breaks up for a minor north east girl who was molested by her landlord three times in December last year. Gurgaon Police had to wait for a month to arrest culprit.

 

Assistant Sub-Inspector from Complaint branch of Commission Police Gurgaon informed to North East Support Centre & Helpline yesterday about the accused being arrested on January 14 and asked the victim to report to the Commissioner Police. Full Story

25 men molested two north east sisters at Gandhi Vihar, New Delhi on January 5. They along with their young brother were severely beaten by culprits after molestation. Timapur police station refused to lodge First Information Report (FIR). Minor Northeast Girl Molested Repeatedly

A minor girl of 17 years old who is doing a designing course was molested repeatedly by her landlord in Gurgaon, Haryana. After failing the repeated attempt to rape, the house owner, in frustration threw out the girl along with her sister and cousin from the house without any reason at midnight. The North East Support Centre & Helpline went to lodge an FIR at Gurgoan Police station today, but the police denied even registering it. Full Story

A Landlord Refused to Refund Advance Money to Three North East Students in Delhi

A report reaching to the North East Support Center (NESC), a Landlord in Safdarjung Enclave refused to pay back the advance money given by a three North East students for renting rooms. Rooms were agreed to rent out to North East students but it was rented out to others when they went to occupy.
